I was staying with friends last autumn and witnessed hundreds of pheasants being released into the local area in preparation for the shooting season. They gained weight and plumage very quickly over the course of a few weeks    …. just in time for them to learn to fly so they could be blasted out of the sky by the local gentry every other afternoon and on Saturday mornings.

Original painting in watercolour on 300gsm Bockingford Paper. Framed in Oak with a cream mount.
